The term ‘remote controlled cars’ conjures up an image of a toy car meant for kids to play with. There is a big difference in the remote controlled cars for kids and those meant for adults. Remote controlled cars are more complex and are a miniature version of a normal car running on actual fuel like nitro or gasoline, or some of them may even run on large batteries. These cars require as much maintenance as a normal car, as they contain the same components apart from the radio transmitting gear.
There are various qualities of the components that are available for building a remote controlled car. Hobby stores provide simple components that can be used to build a simple car. However, if you want to build the most amazing or the fastest remote controlled car, you may need to spend some money on quality car components. While purchasing the components, you have to be particularly careful because the quality and type will ensure maximum performance of your car.
Nitro methane is an alternative fuel to gasoline and works well for remote controlled cars. It is a heavier fuel, providing huge speeds and suited to a straightforward race course. A nitro engine is a good choice for fast engine speeds. However, nitro engines have a disadvantage in that they wear down faster. Engine break downs are inevitable after intense usage and it is a good idea to have a standby electric engine that can be exchanged for the nitro engine when the need arises.
The other components of a car are also important for the performance of a remote controlled car, especially when you aim for absolute speed. You may be required to spend a large amount of money on wheels and axles. The wheels for a remote controlled car should be extremely light, yet firm. The best way to purchase remote controlled car parts is to visit a hobby store, test out the various components, and compare them with other brands. This will help you to select the best items based on your experience.
The idea of picking up the various components may not be very appealing to a person not technically inclined. Car kits that include all the various components makes the job easier for such persons and these parts are also quite easy to assemble. However, you will not be able to achieve the high level of customization that you can get by assembling individual parts to build the RC car. Most of the times you can replace the individual parts if you so wish, in case you have assembled the car from a readily available kit, to give you more efficiency and speed.
It is advisable to ensure that all the various components that you select are of good quality and compatible with each other. A single part that does not perform well will affect the overall performance and speed of the remote controlled car. Select the best parts to get the best performance from your remote controlled car.
Smart Remote Control, What Type Of Remote Control Is It?

Educational Toys for Babies
04 17th, 2009Educational toys are fun for babies and provide another tool to stimulate learning and brain development in your infant. There are many ways to teach a child and tens of thousands of educational toys on the market to help parents in the endeavor. The challenge for parents, child care providers and educators is to choose from the vast array of educational toys available in a way that creates a balance of learning techniques, is age appropriate, and most of all fun. This article will provide basic facts about; how babies learn, types of educational toys available and examples of each.
How Babies Learn
It is quite surprising the rate at which babies learn and develop. Learning begins in the womb and continues throughout childhood. In early life how a child learns centers largely around the relationship with the parents. At least until the child starts preschool, the job of stimulating and satisfying baby’s desire to learn falls primarily to the parents.
While babies respond to their parent’s voice there are many other sounds they find interesting. When parents are choosing educational toys for babies they should look for toys that have sound, colors that are bright and contrasted like red, black and white, and have interesting textures that babies like to touch.
Sounds
Babies’ respond to sound and some of the best educational toys include rattles and musical toys. Soothing music such as lullabies is usually best. Auditory and musical toys are known to stimulate logical thinking and imagery in babies and in adults for that matter.
One good educational auditory toy is the Electronic Metal Keys. These keys are good for a child 6 months and up. The Electronic Metal Keys are an imitation of the parent’s car keys. However, the Electronic Metal Key toy is safe for the child to chew on and has a push button that emits sounds like a car horn, doorbell, ignition, and remote control door.
Sight
Bright colors in educational toys stimulate baby’s vision. Look for toys with strong color contrast and patterns. A good one to look for is a colorful crib mobile that emits music, has different textures, curves and symmetry.
One such educational toy is the Bath Time Fishing toy. This item is appropriate for babies 12 months and up. It’s a great prop to use during a baby bath. Making the bath as fun as possible can also help overcome any resistance or fear your child may have during the bathing process. The toy is bright in color, has a rod and reel, and the strong magnets attached to its tails allow for easy catching. Bath Time Fishing is priced at around $16.00 dollars.
Fine motor play
Fine motor play educational toys are used to stimulate coordination in baby’s finger and eye movements. One such toy aimed at developing the hand-eye coordination is “Counting Pals”, which is aimed at babies 6 months and up. Counting Pals are 10 soft and squishy colored blocks. They can be stacked, tossed, chewed by the baby. Counting pals also provides animal illustrations that will enchant the baby. Counting Pals educational toy is priced at around $12.00.
Cognitive Skills
There are some educational toys that promote cognitive skills in babies, which is to say they stimulate the child’s memory, how they picture things and their problem solving skills. Educational toys like building blocks, activity boxes or puzzles are a good purchase for your child. The puzzles can deal with numbers, letters or pictures; it does not matter, but they should be fairly easy for a baby to grasp and manipulate.
Queen of Adult *** Toys – Rabbit Vibrator
04 16th, 2009Most people know about Rabbit Vibrators and know what I am talking about and needs little introduction but few realise the workings behind this orgasmic *** toy.
A rabbit ******** is essentially a ********. But don’t be confused as there is one essential ingredient to this ******** which will be explained later. A rabbit ******** has a few extra features. The rabbit ******** is designed especially for the needs of the woman not only for solo stimulation but to enhance lovemaking between couples. Rabbit vibrators truly shine as one of the best *** toys for women.
Over the years Rabbit Vibrators have been given various names such as The Rabbit, Bunny Rabbit, Pearl Rabbit. Essentially these *** toys are all the same with the exception of variation of color changes. Rabbit vibrators usually have a rotating or gyrating head. Most new rabbits can rotate both clock-wise and counter clockwise with a controller for the speed. The head is most often shaped like a ***** to give a realistic feeling but can be found with a curved end for maximum ****** stimulation.
Majority of Rabbit Vibrators have small plastic or metal beads incased in the shaft that vibrates or rotates at varying speeds and directions which can intensify at a touch of a button. These beads serve to enhance the sensation of an ****** much like a ribbed condom. When the muscles of the vaginal wall contract around these vibrating or rotating beads during an orgasm, the beads provide extra sensations. The beads are found only on a rabbit ******** and are one of the features that make is so popular.
The second and if not most important feature of a rabbit adult *** toys are the rabbit ears hence the name rabbit ********. These ears are shaped much like the ears of rabbit which in turn vibrates and stimulates the clitoral stimulation as they come into direct contact with the ********.
When purchasing a rabbit ******** look for variable vibrating speeds and rotations which can easily be controlled either by a fixed handle or a remote control unit. The rabbit is a tried and proven *** toy which was unanimously chosen as the “best vibrator” out of 40 different vibrators on Playboy TV’s “Sexcetera” and was selected as the “best vibrator” on a radio station in New York City when compared to other similar *** toys.
To enhance your experience when using any vaginal or **** *** toy vibrator, make sure to use water based lubricants. With all this, said *** toys can be a wonderful enhancement to lovemaking and a source of truly spectacular pleasure and these toys should not be used in place of your partner but with your partner.
Flying a Remote Control Helicopter 101
04 15th, 2009When you want to start on a new hobby by flying a remote control helicopter, there are few guidelines that you should follow and learn by heart. There are easy-to-fly remote control helicopters, but if you’re going to practice with hobby-grade remote control helicopters – meaning not the toy-grade ones – you need to equip yourself with the right knowledge and patience to constantly practice your operating skills as it takes time to understand and to master how it work.
On the other hand, you may want to start with a toy-grade remote control helicopter that is configured with slightly different operating features so that even kids could easily maneuver the remote control helicopter with the use of the fuss-free transmitter which makes flying equally fun as when you’re handling other hobby-grade remote control helicopters.
It is important to note that even though a toy remote control helicopter is designed for easier flight with fixed main rotors to render more stable flight – which means no tilting of the main rotor and other cyclic controls – it usually has dual main rotors to provide level turning. Moreover, if you want to fly around and land perfectly then you would have to take time to practice because you can’t instantly become an expert in flying despite of the simple mechanisms involved. If you plan on taking on a higher level with bigger and more complicated with advanced controls remote control helicopters, you should keep in mind that it’s not going to as easy as having a toy version of it. For one thing, it takes time to figure out how to do some tricks with it.
By following some guidelines on learning how to fly and to take safety precautions to avoid danger – you’d be all set for a new hobby that would even get you to flying a real helicopter.
Helicopter Flying by Remote Control
04 15th, 2009Remote control helicopters come in numerous types and sizes. Some are able to fly with simple battery power, and others require gasoline for their little combustion engines. Some come ready to fly and others must be assembled from scratch. The ones that come ready to fly often require set-ups, tuning, and tinkering before they can take to the air. Often, new pilots just starting out with this hobby expect their new model that comes labeled as flying right out of the box, to do just that. Be prepared to spend at an hour or so preparing your new helicopter for flight. Being able to fly right out of the box is very rare, however you may be able to find one that is ready to fly if it is purchased at a kids toy store rather than a hobby shop.
One choice you will have to make is whether to purchase a single rotor or dual rotor helicopter. Dual rotors are usually preferable due to their unequivocal stability in the air, which makes them substantially easier to master when compared to their single rotor counterpart. The flight characteristics of the dual rotor are also more predictable so that they can be flown within smaller areas, such as within the inside of your home or apartment.
Another significant distinction that must be made is whether the helicopter is fixed pitched or collective pitched. Many beginners have no idea what this even means. Basically, helicopters generate lift by utilizing the engine power to rotate a narrow wing through the air. With a fixed pitch rotor helicopter, more lift is generated and the helicopter ascends as the rotor spins faster. With collective pitch, on the other hand, the rotor rotates at a constant speed, and the lift generated is altered by changing the pitch angle alone.
On other hand, a collective pitch helicopter is much more agile, responsive, and quite smoother to fly. The tradeoff with a collective pitch rotor is that it is much more difficult to learn to fly, requires a more complicated and costly transmitter, and the helicopter systems will be more complex and cost much more than almost any fixed pitched system.
Finally, a fixed pitch rotor has fewer moving parts, making it preferable for a novice as it requires less maintenance, is easier to fly, and is far less costly to fix when it crashes. For a more experienced pilot, the collective pitch helicopter will be more fun and operate more like a real helicopter.
Chevys - Classic Radio Control Models and More
04 13th, 2009As far as variety goes, there are about as many RC cars as there are models of the real thing, and probably even more. Take for instance the Chevy. There is no lack of RC models available if you go for the classics in this arena; or for their sports car line, like the Chevy Corvette.
Chevy RCs are definitely more for the collector than the racer, unless you custom-make your RC racer to have the body of a Chevy, that is. Let’s take a look at some of the more popular Chevy RCs:
Muscle Machines 1957 Chevrolet
This comes in pretty big at a 1:8 scale and is truly a classic. Accessories included are the charger, battery pack, and features working headlights, a decidedly detailed interior, custom wheels, and super glossy paint. Average price is between $60-$80. Other Chevy Muscle Machine models available are the 71 Camaro and the Camaro Z28, also in 1:8 scale and similarly priced to the 1957 Chevrolet.
1969 Chevy Camaro Z28 RC Electric Car
Made by Playmaker Toys, this 1969 Camaro model is produced at a 1:18 scale and features working head and tail lights, and is a four-function car (as in forward, backward, left, and right). This is definitely for the real Chevy collectors out there, and at $30-$40, it’s not a bad deal at all.
1998 Chevrolet Corvette GTS IR Control Mini RC Car
For the mini RC fans out there, this Chevy is for you. It features a body that is all metal, racing tires made of rubber, and a miniature Corvette engine. The remote control wristwatch doubles as just that, a watch, and the mini RC car itself claims to mimic everything that its real nemesis does; this is probably because General Motors itself is said to have licensed this baby as a true 1:32 mini RC. This has a MSRP of $49.95 to $69.95 but can be bought at less than half that price at many online hobby stores.
Chevy truck models are also available as RCs - such as the Chevy SSR RC Truck and the Chevy 4×4 Monster Truck. Average prices for RC trucks are a little over $100, but if you’re lucky, some websites have them on sale for as much as 50% off.
Many Chevy owners who have at one point in their lives owned a classic are thrilled when they find model RCs that resemble the very cars they once owned. So, whether you’re just a beginning collector of classics, or if you’re a seasoned collector looking to expand your line of cars, then the Chevy is definitely the way to go.
Illegal Radio Control Helicopters
04 12th, 2009Over the past few years there have been improvements in remote control technology which has brought about an increased availability of fly radio control toys in the UK. Unfortunately many of the UK importers and retailers are unaware of UK and European regulation which govern these toys and some manufacturers in China and India make little attempt to comply with regulation for the UK or European markets. This mean that this Christmas you may be giving your child an illegal toy!
In the UK there are five Radio frequency bands for which may be used for radio control models, of which only three permit use of flying models, of which only one is recommended. Models which fly are recommended to use the 35Mhz radio frequency range (34.945-35.305Mhz) but may also legally operate at the general 27Mhz and 459Mhz frequencies, providing no risk to health and safety exist, due to loss of control caused by radio interference.
The 35Mhz band is for sole use by flying models and the 40Mhz band is reserved for surface models, so if you buy a radio control car, boat, hovercraft etc. which has a frequency in the 35Mhz band then this model is illegal or if you have a helicopter, plane or UFO which has a frequency between 40.66 and 41.0Mhz then this is illegal. Surface models may also operate in the general frequency ranges 26.96-27.28, 458.5 - 459.5, 2400-2483.5Mhz. All other frequencies are reserved for different communication devices and must not be used for radio control models.
To read more about radio control model frequencies or to get compliant radio control helicopters visit the Ofcom or RCC web sites.
4 Reasons for you to Join Radio Controlled Car Forums
04 12th, 2009There’s only one reason why you’re reading this, and it’s because you have certain misgivings about joining radio controlled car forums. The most obvious benefit to joining radio controlled car forums is to make more friends. You’re probably not after that so here are other reasons that can change your mind:
Reason #1: Learn Something New
Two brains work better than one. If you live in a neighborhood that’s scarce of radio controlled car enthusiasts like yourself, there’s nobody to ask when you have a problem or two with your cherished toys. If you join a radio controlled car forum, however, you’re sure to find the answer you’re looking for.
Reason #2: Meet Legends
Yes, yes, we know you might be a little bit anti-social or a bit of a wallflower but radio controlled car forums may just be the ticket for you to meet radio controlled car modeling legends! There are only a few opportunities in this life for you to meet the greatest and the best of radio controlled car racers and manufacturers. If registering an account in a forum and hanging out for a couple of hours every week in a particular site is all that you need to do, is that too much to ask?
Reason #3: Get Discounts
Yes, some radio controlled car forums can provide discounts for their members. Just think of it! You can build your dream toy simply by joining a forum! Of course, don’t let anybody know you’re only after that. People might start thinking you’re selfish and materialistic. Give the forum a chance; you might have fun as well.
Reason #4: Gain More Racing Experience
Let’s go back to the neighborhood with a scarce human supply of remote controlled car enthusiasts. Without birds of the same feather around you, how else can you gain racing experience? In a radio controlled car forum, however, you’ll have all the experience you wish. You don’t even have to be friendly; all you have to do is let your remote controlled car do the talking.
Tips on Radio Controlled Car Forum Etiquette
If you don’t feel comfortable yet talking to other people in the forum, you could just keep silent and enjoy reading the tips, stories, and debates of other members.
Always be polite and considerate of other members’ feelings. It may seem like common sense but there are just some crazy people out there who seem to delight in being rude.
So, what do you think? Care to give radio controlled car forums a try?
Toys and Games for Kids - Favorite Gifts of 2007
04 11th, 2009With 2007 now behind us I thought it would be a great idea to reflect on some of last year’s best selling gifts for children. These gifts were particularly hot during the Christmas season, but I believe they will continue to be favorite gift items for birthdays and special occasions. Here are the top 5 best sellers.
Floating Duck Radio
All kids love rubber ducks or bath toys. This floating duck is no ordinary duck, it is also a radio with two frequencies – AM and FM. The frequencies and channels can be adjusted by twisting the duck’s tail. The radio switches on and off by turning the duck’s head clockwise and anti-clockwise. This is truly an ingenious way to keep your kids entertained in the bath and for the adult to enjoy their favorite radio station at the same time. It is an inexpensive gift with amazing sound quality.
Remote Controlled Bumper Cars
I remember loving these bumper car rides at the amusement park and now you can enjoy them in the comfort of your own home! Imagine all the fun without the knocks and bangs that you would experience behind the wheel. These remote control bumper cars race along a smooth surface. The realistic movements of the cars make crazy turns in an attempt to hit one of their opponent’s 3 sensors. Hit all 3 to disable the opponent’s car and win the game.
Sudoku Sudocube
Certain 3D puzzles were extremely popular over the Christmas season. The Sudocube was a best seller. It combines the challenge of the popular sudoku puzzle and the fun of a rubik’s design. The sudocube is not only fun, it is also educational and a great way to stimulate and motivate both kids and adults alike.
Slingshot Flying Monkey and Frog
These relatively inexpensive and fun toys were best sellers all year round. There must be something about screaming monkeys and frogs making croaking noises when hoisted in the air! Whatever the reason, the slingshot flying monkey and frog are absolutely hilarious, fun and a must have. The flying monkey is dressed mysteriously in a cape and mask just like a super hero. Both the frog and monkey can fly and travel 50 feet – just put two fingers in the hand pockets, pull back it’s strong elastic arms and let go.
Gelli Baff
Imported from the UK and currently not available anywhere in the US except at MyRedPacket.com is the award winning Gelli Baff! Kids simply can’t get enough of Gelli Baff. Simply run your bath 2 or 3 inches deep, turn off the tap, add Gelli Baff and watch in amazement as your boring bath water magically turns into a fun thick goo
